A full programme of Club social and fundraising events have now been finalised for the current season, so be sure to put these dates in your diary. As always, your support of these events is crucial to the Club in two very important ways. Firstly, it pulls us all together to have a good time and secondly, it raises funds for the Club to enable us to maintain and improve the good experience at the Club our players and members enjoy.
The first event is the NUFC Golf Day on Friday, 18th September 2009, at Tall Pines Golf Club.
The cost is £35 per person which includes 18 holes of golf, dinner and prizes.
Betting slips at the ready on Saturday, 17th October 2009, as the Club holds its annual Race Night at the Grove Sports Centre, starting at 7.30 pm. Barry Sampson is currently organising race and horse sponsors for what is sure to be another fun evening.
To celebrate the festive season, why not come along to the Club’s Christmas Fancy Dress Disco on Saturday, 19th December 2009, at the Grove Sports Centre. Last year this event was a big success and we are currently looking for a theme. If you’ve got any bright ideas, just let me know.
Test your knowledge of the beautiful game on Saturday, 16th January 2010, at the Club Football Quiz Evening. Robbie Tracey is busy pulling together the questions to test teams of four at the Grove Sports Centre, starting at 7.30 pm.
Saturday, 20th February 2010, is the big one. The fans will be flocking to Fake That 4 at the Grove Sports Centre and if the past three events have been anything to go by, this will be every bit as memorable. The Club’s own Ant and Dec – Pete and Vicks – have been booked so watch this space.
The Club’s end of season presentation dinner and disco will take place at the Ramada Jarvis Hotel, St Mary Redcliffe, Bristol, on Saturday, 15th May 2010. Red carpet treatment and sparkling wine reception are two new features and the night will no doubt end the season with a bang.
Finally, the curtain comes down on the season with the Club’s annual Showboat event on Sunday, 30th May 2009. Football tournament, BBQ, sideshows for the kids, all topped off by a cracking band in the evening.
So there you have it. As always, hope to see you, your friends and families at as many of these events as possible.
Spence
Club Chairman
